High School Senior Session

Can you believe that its already time for another school year? It is crazy because as a photographer we are always planning a season ahead...when you guys are getting ready to dive into the swimming pool we are dreaming up diving into leaf piles and carving pumpkins! I know it's crazy, but when we get to look at each individual gallery I realize how much planning and preparation goes into each session!

This senior rocked her senior session with some cute and classic outfits, but didn't fail to incorporate her own colorful shoes! I love how each year I get to meet so many high school and college seniors and see what kind of personality each one has! We had the most BEAUTIFUL Missouri weekend in August with a high that day of only 82 (I never get that lucky in the middle of august). This senior wanted a mix of downtown classic photos, as well as nature and flowers. I knew just where to take her to get both of those with a short distance.

We started off a Jesse Hall on the University of Missouri Campus. This campus provides a great area for photos against large stairs and large columns. It is also a great walking distance to just about anything you want downtown which makes it even better. If you have a downtown area of any kind in your town I HIGHLY SUGGEST IT FOR SENIORS. Downtown is the perfect spot for neutral colors, but also some bright vibrant colors from cars and stoplights. Many downtown areas feature different store fronts and each building provides a unique bit of architecture for amazing lines and focal points during senior pictures. Like I said before Mizzou's campus is probably one of my favorite spots for senior shoots! It offers a huge variety of different options. You can get all of the city like architecture, but also add in some gorgeous colors at the same time with all of their landscaping. Jesse hall is a great spot to get some timeless photos using the large concrete stairs and columns, and for this senior it was a great opportunity show off those cute red heels she brought.

After leaving Mizzou and downtown Columbia, we headed over to one of the more popular places in Columbia to take photos. I know what you're thinking...why would you take her to the most popular place in Columbia to take photos if everyone goes there. Well the reason is, the colors right now are AMAZING, and the options in such a small area are endless! Nothing contrast the modern downtown colors like Shelter Gardens does.
